چکیده
The provision of mechanical cooling in deep mines comes with a significant energy cost as amount heat transfers from surrounding rock to the airflow. Thermal insulation can be applied reduce such transfer, thereby cutting down load. In this study, impact thermal on reducing flux through was analytically investigated. optimal thickness, life cycle saving and payback period were also evaluated by using method economic benefit is heavily dependent thickness. Results show that between tunnel airflow significantly reduced use insulation, but reduction varies conditions. total associated firstly decreases then increases when thickness increases, implying an Nonetheless, both maximum increased rising temperature, eventually leading period.

Impact of the insulation materials’ features on the determination of optimum insulation thickness
The optimum thickness of the building envelope insulation materials depends on a large number of parameters. But the optimum thickness is calculated considering only economic arguments. In this paper, life-cycle assessment of the materials used in the building, and specifically the insulation ones, are included in the process to calculate the optimum insulation thickness from both environmental...
متن کاملParametric Investigation of Optimum Thermal Insulation Thickness for External Walls
Numerous studies have estimated the optimum thickness of thermal insulation materials used in building walls for different climate conditions. The economic parameters (inflation rate, discount rate, lifetime and energy costs), the heating/cooling loads of the building, the wall structure and the properties of the insulation material all affect the optimum insulation thickness. This study focuse...

متن کاملImpact of the Temperature Dependency of Fiberglass Insulation R-Value on Cooling Energy Use in Buildings
Building energy models usually employ a constant, room-temperature-measured value for the thermal resistance of fiberglass roof insulation. In summer, however, the mean temperature of roof insulation can rise significantly above room temperature, lowering the insulation’s thermal resistance by 10% to 20%. Though the temperature dependence of the thermal resistance of porous materials like fiber...
